Nimbark Math Seva Samiti Trust (NMSST) is a non-governmental organization engaged in social action and economical development since 1984. It was registered under the West Bengal Societies Act of 1961. It has been working on development strategies which socially relevant, gender just and economically viable. The work of the organization encompasses issues related to women, adolescent and children, persons with special needs, older persons, literacy, health, water and sanitation, food security, livelihood, disaster management, governance etc. The Executive Body of the organization is constituted mainly of individuals dedicated to service of the needy and deprived.
Nimbark Math Seva Samiti Trust offers shelter on the campus for older persons. We provide food with the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment funded programmes. At present more than 25 senior citizens are living on the campus. The facilities the centre offered them are Nutrition, Medical treatment, Lodging and Recreation. They are engaged in activities like envelop making, fishing net weaving, basket making etc. which helps them in being physically involved and economically independent. They enjoy an outing program once a year.
Nimbark Math Seva Samiti Trust has been providing medical facilities for rural Scheduled Tribes communities in Debra, Daspur-I & II, Salbani, Garahbeta –I & II Blocks through Mobile Medical Van. The Dispensary offers them medical facilities and also spreads awareness regarding health care, nutrition, and Govt. facilities for development. We have covered 25 villages in Daspur I&II Blocks and benefited the community. The Mobile Medical Dispensary has been implemented by Nimbark Math Seva Samiti Trust under the aegis by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India.
Nimbark Math Seva Samiti Trust has been running a special school for the Children with Disabilities (Composite School for the visually handicapped, deaf & dumb, mental retardation also Multi Disable). Children from poor socio-economic backgrounds study in the school. Every year children are enrolled in the school and get a quality education from trained special education teachers. There are both girls and boys enrolled in the school supported by qualified teachers.
